Green Game Jam 2024!

Merge Mansion has joined the 2024 Green Game Jam!

Our in-game event is now live in Merge Mansion, called Green Acres Quest. Join Maddie and Grandma in restoring a community garden, and bringing some local biodiversity back to Hopewell Bay!

What is Green Game Jam?

The Green Game Jam is an annual challenge for studios with live games and existing audiences to build ‘green activations’ that engage their players on particular environmental topics. Green activations are new features implemented either in the game or through the ‘metagame’ space, such as social channels or in-person events. They can include new modes, maps, themed events, storylines and other creative ways to make players aware of environmental topics.

The goal of the Green Game Jam is to harness the reach and cultural power of video games to engage people all over the world on these issues. Efforts are focused each year on a dedicated environmental theme with the mission of showing education, awareness and mobilization for the environment can go hand in hand with making great games.

How can I join in?

Taking part is easy! This year, the overall theme of Green Game Jam 2024 is Chain Reaction - meaning that small everyday actions can lead to big impact over time. In Merge Mansion, we have chosen to look at nature restoration.

Ultimately, the best way to start supporting the environment is actually with action, so we want to highlight how even small actions can collectively make a difference.

In-game event!

Our in game nature restoration themed event is called Green Acres Quest, and is live from Sep 2 - Sep 14.

Knowing that small actions lead to big impact, Maddie encourages her community to join her in rewilding an area in the Mansion grounds. During the event, players merge items to collect parts of a lush Community Garden, which they can keep after the event.

There are also some surprises for Maddie along the way when Emilio turns up... no wait, let's not spoil it now.
